This is a blog that I am starting here on this browser called Flock.  I guess you could call what I am doing is Flocking. I am not to sure just where this will end up so once I get it down to where I think that it looks pretty good then I will post it and see where it goes. I see by looking at the top that maybe I could add a picture or two to this blog.

Hello All. Just wanted to update that last post that I made on this site.  finally I got some action out of the VA.  I got a check but for the 50 plus years, it is not all that much. But also I will be getting  a check each month for as long as I last. At 72, I can’t tell just how long that might be.  I am trying for at least 150 or so. LOL.  I also had a claim in for the leg that I got messed up when I was in the service. This happened because of the problem that I was having with my ears. Maybe I forgot to post that part. Anyway in the basic trainning part of the service in the first eight week of trainning, I had to go on a night firing exercise. It was very dark and with all the other people firing their rifles, it made it even harder to see what was happening. This other person drop down beside and fired his rifle in my ear causing me to lose my hearing in that ear. Later in our trainning, I was trainning on some of the other equipment that the army has. As luck would have, I had to fire a 106 recoilless rifle. That rifle has sound coming out of both ends of the rifle. I held the wrong ear and lost the hearing in the other one. Now to continue with what I was saying eariler,  The problem that I was having with my leg. This happened in the day light. We were out trainning when my first sargent started calling to me. I was in front of him and with my bad hearing there was no way that I could understand just what he was saying. In fact I didn’t even hear him at all. He picked up a big rock, a lot bigger then a softball.  He threw it and hit me in the leg. This knock me down. Needless to say, I was able to hear the next thing he had to say. I went on sick call and had them take a look at it. The bump that I had on my leg was still bigger then a baseball. They punched my TS card and sent me on my way. If you don’t know what that TS card is, it is because you haven’t lived long enough.  After many years, that same leg started giving me problems. I finally had it operated on. That was 10 years ago or so. I still have problems with it but at my age I don’t think that it would be worth having anything else done to it.  I put a claim in on it too. But I did say in the paperwork that I sent in, the resson that I put that in was to let them know that the problem that I was having with my ears was from being in the service. I have read where other with problems like mine have had no luck at all getting anything done as far as help for the VA.

Hello All. As you can see but the sample that I put on my website here but looking just below this post, I have been pretty busy. We been going to different places and taking pictures so that I could make the panoramas that I am putting on Puzz’s website. The name of the site is; panoye.com. You can go to that site and see my other pictures plus you will be able to see panoramas that the other members are putting on. What the owner of the website (Puzz) is trying to do is get enough members so that he will be able to panoram the world. Big Job, Right? So far we only have a few members. What I was thinking was that if I put a panorama on my site, maybe other will see the link and follow it to Puzz’s site and become a member also. Once you become a member, you can put your own panoramas on the site and you will be able to vote on the different panoramas. This way we will be able to see just which panoramas are being look at and just which one’s are the best. If enough people will help, it shouldn’t be too long before we have panoramas for all over the world. Thanks for stopping by. Chuck Townsend

This is a picture that I have on this other website. I am just playing around trying to learn a thing or two about putting images on this website. I tried it earlier and the image show for just a little while and then I guess that it went south or something. I did have a logo from the people that hosted the image in the first place. I didn’t think that is what I wanted on this website, so I hit the delete buttom. Being new at this, I hope that it worked.

The post below this one has a bunch of panoramas of the place that I work for 26 years before I retired. Also in one of them you will see a house that I lived in. The company furnished a house to live in and a new truck to every 5 years to drive. As you can see in the panoramas, I only lived one block from the cemetery. I could have walked faster. Of course I spent a lot of time driving around finding the supplies that we needed to keep the place running. Also getting parts to repair the equipment that we had in the park. I noticed on that last post that I made the link at the bottom of the page was real small and maybe a lot of people will miss it. Here is what it looked like on that last post. Visit this panorama here You may be able to click on that and see the panorama. Somehow I have to figure out some way to put one on this site to where it will show like a picture without having to click on anything. I don't know for sure if it will be possible to do that with the WordPress software. I will just have to keep looking around and finding information about the software. I think that in the forum they may have the information that I need. I know with as many members as there are on the WordPress blogs, someone out there may have the information that I need.


I finally found out just how to get a panorama to show on this site. I don’t think that anyone has found the link to see the panorama yet. I have another one that I am going to try to show here too. This one is one the I was working on a couple days ago. First we went down to the downtown part of Riverside, California. Now when I say that I am not meaning it like downtown in Vegas. It is just where the main part of the town is. Anyway the is this little park right in the middle of town. For a long time that is where all the homeless was hanging out. It was a mess. The city went in and fixed it all up by replanting the grass and putting in new trees and all kinds of other changes. They put a big fence around it and a real nice gate at the entrance. Inside there is a nice fountain and other features that makes it look real nice. Anyway back to my story. I took my camera and tripod and went inside and took a bunch of pictures. The pictures that I need to make up a set so that I can do a panorama is 24 pictures. I use to use just 12 pictures but I found that I have a lot better control by using more pictures. It helps just in case you have people walking or a car moving. With 24 pictures you can edit out the cars of whatever better. I made 5 different set while I was there. Once I got home, I upload them to my computer. I found that it is much better to put them in two directories. The second one, my working directory, is the one I use to do the panoramas. As I get the panorama finished, I delete that set of pictures. This makes it a lot faster when I have to start the next set of pictures. Plus I still have a backup set just in case I want to redo the panoramas. So I go started with the panoramas and the first two didn’t come out just the way that I wanted them but when I finished the third one it was really nice. I said the myself at that time, ” This one I have to put on my website”. So I stopped working on them on uploaded it the the panoye.com website. On about putting them there, on that site they have the code that I can copy and use the panorama on my other sites.
